Tupo! / We Exist!
In Kenya, the experience of being a transgender person unfolds like a dance, navigating challenges from the absence of legal recognition and limited access to gender-affirming health care to moments of gender euphoria found within supportive communities and chosen families. Being a trans person in Kenya means existing to fight erasure.
Exhibited in Adrhi Gallery, Nairobi, Kenya (February – April 2024) and De Cacaofabriek, Venlo, The Netherlands (september 2024).
