Eto my (this is us)

Rejected by family, bullied by local authorities and discriminated by the State Duma: many transgender people in Russia are oppressed from all sides. These photos were published in The Moscow Times in August 2020. A few days earlier, parliament announced it investigated the possibility to ban gender reassignment by law. Due to far-reaching consequences in family law, this proposal was withdrawn months later. All models gave permission for the daring publication. Their motivation: “This is who we are, and we won’t be chased away.”
